Bastian Nießing completed his studies in biomedical engineering at the Fachhochschule Aachen and subsequently obtained a master's degree in medical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. He began his professional career at the Fraunhofer IPT, where he started his doctorate and at the same time worked as a research assistant in the Production Metrology department. He later took over as leader of the "Automation in Life Sciences" group. Since February 2024, he has held the position of head of department for "Bio-adaptive Production".
