Meet us at the next fair!

Hannover Messe

Hannover, Germany, March 31 – April 4, 2025

At the Hannover Messe 2025, the Fraunhofer IPT will be presenting a wide range of technologies and applications. The two stands in the themed halls “Hydrogen” and “5G” will be the main focus of the trade fair presence.

Efficient production technologies for fuel cells

At the special show “Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE”, a sub-fair of the Hannover Messe 2025, a team of researchers from the Fraunhofer IPT will be presenting the highlights of the “H2Go” research project. In this lighthouse project, the Fraunhofer IPT, together with 18 other Fraunhofer institutes, is conducting research and development on a broad front in the field of fuel cell production. The focus is on machine and plant concepts as well as manufacturing technologies for the discrete and continuous production of bipolar plates, expanded metal structures (PTLs) and the membrane electrode assembly (MEA).

Step by and meet us in Hall 13, booth C47.

Security and energy efficiency for future-proof production

Digitalization is making production smarter, leaner and more flexible – but at the same time, challenges are growing: Cyber attacks pose a threat to production networks, while new EU regulations such as NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) impose stricter security requirements. Sustainability is also becoming more of a focus – the Energy Efficiency Act and rising energy prices are increasing the pressure on companies to make their production processes more efficient. The Fraunhofer IPT supports manufacturing companies with customized solutions and audits on their way to secure and efficient production. The “SecGPro - Security Gateway for Production” and the “EnergyAIXpert Meter” provide a practical illustration of the challenges that exist and the solutions that can be applied in manufacturing. Visit us in Hall 14, Booth H 06 (31), and learn more about our services.

ISCT

New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, May 7 – 10, 2025

At the “ISCT 2025” conference for gene and cell therapy in New Orleans, which is attended by over 2,500 experts from research, clinical practice and industry, we are presenting our solutions for laboratory automation together with our partner Harro Höfliger.

One highlight is our “Lab Automation Demonstrator”, which showcases Next Generation Production for innovative cell and gene products. Using a magnetic planar drive, cell containers are transported smoothly between different stations – including liquid handling and inline quality control.

The “COPE” control software used in the process was developed specifically for the needs of a laboratory. It enables flexible, free-chain processes and fully bio-adaptive production.

ASGCT

New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, May 13 – 17, 2025

We are represented at the “ASGCT Annual Meeting 2025” together with our partner Harro Höfliger. There, we will present our solutions for laboratory automation – a crucial step for the efficient, scalable and standardized production of cell and gene therapeutics.

One highlight is our “Lab Automation Demonstrator”, which showcases the Next Generation Production for innovative cell and gene products. Using a magnetic planar drive, cell vessels are transported smoothly between different stations – including liquid handling and inline quality control.

The control software “COPE” used in this process was developed specifically for the needs of a laboratory. It enables flexible, free-chained process control and fully bio-adaptive production.

SLAS Europe 2025

Hamburg, Germany, May 20 – 22, 2025

Visit us at SLAS Europe and experience the future of laboratory automation. With our Lab Automation Demonstrator, we are showing a model of the “Next Generation Production” for novel gene and cell products. The system is based on a magnetic planar drive and can frictionlessly transport cell vessels from station to station and, for example, carry out liquid handling processes or inline quality controls.

Together with our innovative control software “COPE”, flexible, free-chain processes can be implemented and a fully bio-adaptive production can be realised.

Laser – World of Photonics

Munich, Germany, June 24 – 27, 2025

Visit us at the Laser World of Photonics in Munich!

At our booth, we will be presenting some of the topics we are currently researching. These range from innovations in the production of plastic optics and high-precision glass optics to the microstructuring of optics and state-of-the-art measurement technology.

Laser World of Photonics is an important trade show for the laser and photonics industry. Since 1973, it has covered the entire spectrum of photonics – from components to systems and applications. It combines research, technology and practice and, as a cross-sectional technology, addresses important areas such as materials processing, metrology, imaging and medical technology.

Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe

Hamburg, Germany, October 21 – 23, 2025

At the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe, we will be presenting the research and development results from our activities related to fuel cell and electrolyzer stacks. We will be providing exciting insights into the iterative optimization of production processes and machine systems. Using simulations, prototypes and functional tests of metallic bipolar plates (BPP) and expanded metal-based porous transport layers (PTL), we illustrate how scalability, product quality, performance and costs can be optimized in synergy.

Visit us in Hall 4, Booth H20, to learn more about what we have to offer.

formnext

Frankfurt am Main, Germany, November 18 – 21, 2025

How does an additively manufactured semi-finished product become a high-quality component for industrial use?

Additive processes such as Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) offer high flexibility and resource efficiency in individual and small series production. But only through appropriate post-processing does the component achieve the surface quality that industrial use requires.

At Formnext 2025, the Fraunhofer IPT, together with other Fraunhofer institutes, will show examples of numerous processes and their combinations: conventional processes for smoothing surfaces such as milling and sandblasting, but also vibratory grinding, stream finishing, plasma processes, laser beam structuring, selective coating and painting.

The institutes' joint exhibit offers trade fair guests a compact overview of the variety of different technologies and invites them to discuss specific challenges.
