Florian Hüsing M.Sc.
Florian Hüsing, born in 1990, studied mechanical engineering and production technology at RWTH Aachen University. During his studies, he worked for half a year at Brose Shanghai Automotive Systems Co., Ltd. in China and dealt with capacity planning and systems for laser welding of automotive seat rails. In 2015, he completed his master's degree with a thesis on "Fundamental Research and Simulation of Diamond Ablation by Short Pulsed Laser Radiation".
He then worked as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer IPT and took over as head of the "Laser Systems and Heating Technology" group in 2018. There he established the new research field Tailored Heat, dealing with temperature controlled 2D heating processes. Since January 2024, Mr. Hüsing is leading the department Modular Production Machines at the Fraunhofer IPT. In his dissertation, he is investigating a "High-Power Water-Guided Laser System for Laser-Assisted Drilling of Hard Rock".
