Philipp Ganser M.Sc.
Philipp Ganser studied mechanical engineering with a focus on production technology at RWTH Aachen University. He completed his master's degree in machine development and automation with distinction in 2014. He completed his thesis at the Fraunhofer Center for Manufacturing Innovation CMI in Boston. From the end of 2014 to 2019, he was a research assistant at the Fraunhofer IPT in the "High Performance Machining" department. His work focused on computer-aided process planning for simultaneous multi-axis milling of difficult-to-machine materials. At the beginning of 2016, he took over the management of the group "High Performance Machining - Fundamentals and Technology Development" and later the group "High Performance Machining - Process Planning and Digitalization". Currently he is doing his PhD in the field of simultaneous multi-axis milling of free-form surfaces with novel tool types. Philipp Ganser has been head of the "High Performance Machining" department at the Fraunhofer IPT since mid-2019.
