Dr.-Ing. Robin Day
Robin Day, born in 1989, studied Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart, specializing in "Design and construction of Aerospace Vehicles" and "Drive and Energy Systems in Aerospace engineering". He graduated with a Master of Sciene in 2016.
During his studies Robin Day worked for Lufthansa Technik in Frankfurt, N3 Engine Overhaul Services in Erfurt and Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth. Prior to his further scientific career he was head of the general aviation maintenance facility Aircraft Service in Mainz. In 2017 he continued to deepen his knowledge in additive manufacturing, especially in Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), as a research assistant at the RWTH Aachen University Chair for Digital Additive Production.
Since 2020 Robin Day has been working as head of the Directed Energy Manufacturing department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT. He is building up the LPBF at the Fraunhofer IPT, enabling the establishment of a complete and continuous additive process chain from a single source at the Fraunhofer IPT.
