(Off.: Kleinserien in der Stahlverarbeitung statistisch absichern)
The steel processing industry is increasingly confronted with individual customer requirements and simultaneously increasing quality demands. Statistical validation of small series using classical methods such as statistical process control (SPC) is not yet possible. The analysis of scarcely available samples leads to quality prognoses with low statistical certainty.
In the project "KleiSta", the Fraunhofer IPT and its partners have developed a method that enables the statistical validation of small batches from lot size 1. For this purpose, small batches were combined into groups by means of classification, taking into account expert knowledge and on the basis of comparable processes and characteristics. Sample values within a group were analyzed together, thus increasing the statistical certainty. An integrated risk model enables their quantification. In addition, quality forecasts can now be derived for previously unproduced small series of the same class. The application of the SPC for small series is supported by a software demonstrator.
